About the Researcher: Jeffery Seow

Jeffery Seow is a Penang-born researcher and author specializing in the deconstruction of Straits Settlements historical narratives. A retired advertising executive, he applies professional scrutiny to historical records to uncover the nuances of the region’s heritage.

Heritage & Lineage

Jeffery’s deep connection to the subject matter is rooted in his direct lineage to several of the most influential figures in Straits history. He is the grandson of Seow Sieu Jin and Capitan Chung Thye Phin, the great-grandson of Seow Poh Leng and Capitan Chung Keng Quee, and a descendant of Tan Kim Ching and Tan Tock Seng.
